The firm of Alberts & Son, established in 1915 in Newark, New Jersey, created this amazingly lifelike brooch.
On 14k gold, the top is enameled to resemble the shell of an oyster complete with ridges, shading, and texture. The surface has a metallic pewter-hued sheen within the gray hues.
On one edge, a cultured white pearl was placed, almost appearing as if it just popped out from within. The rest is pure 14k gold.
Note: This is not a locket and does not open.
